What is the Difference Between LED and OLED TV’s?

Our client’s that are upgrading their TV are asking “What is the difference between LED and OLED TV’s. From a technical standpoint an LCD screen requires a backlight to light the pixels in the TV Panel. An OLED TV uses light emitting diodes in the panel that doesn’t require a backlight. What really matters, can you see the difference? OLED TVs are known to have better black levels which improves overall color and contrast. OLED TVs have the better refresh rate which is important in watching sports and gaming and provide for better viewing angles. OLED TVs also consume less power. From a pricing and size standpoint, LED TVs come out on top. LED TVs are cheaper than OLED TVs. Regarding sized, you can get an LED TV in the 100” range whereas the OLED maxes out at around 85”.
