What Are My Options If My Bose System Can’t Be Repaired

Once clients discover that their Bose system cannot be repaired, they often wonder, "What can I do?" The answer to this question depends on the specific product the client owns. Over time, Bose has significantly reduced the number of products it offers, leading us to recommend and install non-Bose alternatives. For instance, Bose no longer manufactures Lifestyle Home Theater systems. In their place, we have been installing Sonos Home Theaters, which include a Sonos Arc, Sonos Sub, and a pair of Sonos rear speakers. It is important to note that if you have additional music zones connected to the Lifestyle system and powered by Bose SA amplifiers, you will need to replace the Bose amplifiers with Sonos amplifiers. In most cases, the Bose speakers in the music zones are compatible with the new Sonos amplifiers.

For clients with Bose SoundTouch speakers like the SoundTouch 10, 20, or 30, we have been replacing them with Sonos Era 100, ERA 300, Sonos One, or Sonos Five models. In the case of those seeking a replacement for a Bose Wave Radio, these can be purchased directly from Bose. As for clients with Bose SoundLink speakers, we recommend Sonos Roam speakers as an alternative.
