Is it My Streaming Device or Bose Console?

This week, we received a call from a client whose Apple TV had stopped working through his Bose system. His question was, “Is it the Bose system or the Apple TV causing the issue?”

There are a few quick troubleshooting steps you can try before scheduling a service call. First, check if other devices connected to the Bose system, such as a cable box or DVD player, are working properly. If they are, the issue is most likely with the streaming device.

To confirm, connect the streaming device directly to the TV using the same cable that was connecting it to the Bose console. This will bypass the Bose system. If the streaming device still doesn’t work, it’s likely the culprit. However, if it does work when connected directly to the TV, the streaming device is not the problem.

Since the other devices connected to the Bose console are working, and the same cable worked when connected directly to the TV, the issue likely lies with a bad input on the Bose console. Depending on the age of your Bose system, Bose may still offer repairs. To find out if your console can be repaired, visit www.bose.com/support.
