How Can I Get Rid of Some of My Remotes?

Writer's picture: Craig WhitakerCraig Whitaker

Clients are always asking “How can I get rid of some my remotes”. Universal remotes such as the old Harmony remotes and URC remotes were the go-to solutions. The old harmony remotes have since been discontinued. At Whitaker Brothers South, we have stayed away from these solutions because many clients found them difficult to use and often inadvertently changed the programming. A better solution is the Control 4 E-1 controller. In addition to controlling your audio video devices, the Control 4 E-1 can be expanded to handle the lighting and thermostats in the room, all controlled with a single remote control or touch screen device. For those clients with a new Sonos Arc connected to a new TV with an HDMI cable, the TV remote control will automatically control the Sonos Arc Soundbar. Most TV remote controls can be programmed to control your other devices such as your cable/Sat box, DVD player, etc. With a little programming, your existing TV remote could be your solution to getting rid of some of your remote controls. Whitaker Brothers offers design, sales, and service of quality audio, video, and Smart Home systems. Schedule your FREE consultation by calling 888-775-2673.
