We often get calls from clients saying their Sonos system stopped working after setting up a new router. This is a common issue—and in most cases, it’s because the new router has a different network name than the previous one.
Recently, we shared a blog post explaining why it’s best to keep the same network name and password when replacing your router. You can read the blog here: https://www.wbsouth.com/post/keep-the-same-password
If your Sonos system isn’t connecting, it’s likely still trying to find your old network. Fortunately, there’s a simple fix:
Important: If you’re connecting your Sonos products to a new router, keep them disconnected from Ethernet until you’ve completed the steps below. Once all supported Sonos products are connected to the new Wi-Fi network, you can reconnect any required Ethernet cables.
Here’s how to reconnect your Sonos system:
Open the Sonos app and wait for it to search for your system.
When you see “No products found,” select Go to System Settings.
Under Your System, tap Update Network.
Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Sonos products to the new network.
Note: This process will not work with certain older Sonos products, including:Connect (Gen 2), Connect:Amp (Gen 2), One (Gen 1), Play:1, Play:3, Play:5 (Gen 2), Playbar, Playbase, Sub (Gen 1 & 2), SYMFONISK Bookshelf (Gen 1), and SYMFONISK Table Lamp (Gen 1).
