Can I Play My Computer Music on My Sonos System

Writer's picture: Craig WhitakerCraig Whitaker

For our clients who are new to Sonos, the question often arises: can music stored on their computer be played through their Sonos systems? The answer is yes. To get started, open your Sonos app and navigate to 'Manage,' then 'Music Library Settings.' If you're using MacOS, click the “+” (plus) sign; for Windows, select “ADD.” Choose "My Music Folder." If your music is stored elsewhere, select the appropriate folder. Enter your computer’s password and follow the on-screen instructions. Depending on your music library's size, it may take a few minutes to index.
